Gunmen storm Kabul luxury hotel

All four attackers were killed, officials said.

On Saturday, a group of militants attacked the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul.

The ministry says it is investigating how the attackers managed to enter the building.

Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish said the six killed included a foreigner and a telecommunications official from the western Farah province who was attending a conference.

He added that 10 others were wounded including six security officers and four civilians.

The bodies of the attackers have been recovered as security forces continued to clear the landmark building, he said.

The Intercontinental was attacked in 2011 by gunmen and suicide bombers that killed a total of seven civilians and was claimed by the Taliban. Rahimi said more than 161 guests, including 41 foreigners, were rescued.

According to latest reports at least one of the victims is a foreign national. Ambulances raced to the scene during a lull in the shooting, a witness who lives near the hotel told CNN.
