Manchester United defeats Stoke City by 3-0

Manchester United's Romelu Lukaku celebrates after scoring his side's 3ed goal of the game during the English Premier League match against Stoke City at Old Trafford in Manchester, Monday, Jan. 15.

United reduced the gap to 12 points on Tuesday morning AEDT, after they claimed a 3-0 victory over Stoke City, with Pogba insisting it is now a matter of looking forward, not back.

He provided two fruitful layoffs in the first 45 minutes of the game to see Antonio Valencia and Anthony Martial grab their respective opportunities by the neck as they netted the first and second goal putting United at front.

"But we have to think about ourselves and think about winning because we have lost a lot of points".

"But it doesn't matter what the points distance is to me, what matters is that every match we have to win and we have to try and finish in the best possible position".

Stoke, meanwhile, are in real danger of relegation this season as they sit 18th in the table, but have sacked former United striker Mark Hughes in an attempt to arrest an alarming decline.

"I think he's happy, he's happy the way the team is playing - very adapted to him". We scored an incredible goal, but it was not enough to hurt them because they had a very good reaction.

"We scored two awesome goals and for me, that was the good thing of the first half".

"But I think maybe in the big games, maybe in the big European games, Jose might look at using the three, which, to be fair, I think he played in Everton away where he played on that left-hand side".

On Twitter Monday, the Cranberries said that O'Riordan's family members are "devastated" by the news and have requested privacy. Suffice to say, I am very sad to lose someone who meant so much to me and to many people across the world.

"Second half, totally different". We recover the ball faster, we didn't let them play.

"In the second half, we played confidently and fast and aggressive and I liked the second half".

However, both Mourinho and United moved to dispel such rumours in the weeks that followed, with claims having quickly spread that the 54-year-old was in fact close to extending his deal at Old Trafford.

"It really needs the club to pull together now". If they are not pulling the bell the same way, it won't ring and then you've got a problem.
