NY bomb attack suspect indicted on 6 counts

The Brooklyn man accused of setting off an explosive device near the Port Authority Bus Terminal on Manhattan's West Side on December 11, causing minor injuries to three bystanders and disrupting morning commutes for many, pleaded not guilty on Thursday to a six-count indictment that included using a weapon of mass destruction.

According to the report, Akayed spoke very little during his appearance in federal court.

Akayed Ullah was indicted by a jury in the Southern District of NY on six counts, including attempting to provide support to the Islamic State and attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, the office said. Ullah was indicted Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, in the failed pipe bombing of the NY subway system in December.

CJI Misra to address media soon
Sources in the law ministry said Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had not briefed the prime minister in this regard. We tried to collectively tell CJI Dipak Misra that certain things in the administration of the SC is not in order .

"At this moment, not guilty", Ullah said when U.S. District Judge Richard Sullivan asked for his plea to a six-count indictment that was announced on Wednesday.

Gallicchio did not respond to questions about Ullah's odd plea, which seemed to leave the door open for a plea agreement at a later date.

Authorities say 27-year-old Akayed Ullah was the only person seriously hurt on December 11 when the bomb went off in a corridor linking the Times Square subway to the Port Authority bus terminal in Manhattan.

Defense lawyer Amy Gallicchio said Ullah, who is now held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center federal jail in Manhattan, needed medical attention for painful stitches that were "embedded" in his skin and for a medical dressing that hadn't been changed recently. And she said he needed some of the dressing on his wounds changed.

Authorities said the device was built at Ullah's Brooklyn home, and that he'd stored materials like metal screws for shrapnel. He was arrested soon after the pipe bomb failed to fully explode, though he was initially hospitalized after suffering burns.

"Less than one month ago, during the holiday rush hour, Akayed Ullah allegedly detonated a bomb in a major transit hub of New York City", U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said in a press release.

"Trump you failed to protect your nation", Akayed Ullah wrote on his social media site in the run-up to the attack.
