Karni Sena workers detained for protesting outside CBFC office in Peddar Road

Over 70 activists of the Rajasthan- based Karni Sena were detained here today while protesting outside the Central Board of Film Certification's office against the clearance given to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmavat", earlier titled "Padmavati". The film has finally received a green signal from the CBFC which awarded it a "U/A" certificate with some modifications. Rajput group Karni sena has now made a decision to call protest all over the country on the day of Padmaavat release by the name of janta curfew to stop the release.

However, the makers of the film, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Bhansali Productions, are happy with the way the CBFC carried out the process of certification and have disclosed the changes ordered by the censor board. The disclaimer before any film says that this film is a work of fiction and one of the fundamental human rights is the right to freedom of expression.

Karni Sena members though are not satisfied with the changes suggested.
