The New 2019 Ford Edge ST Is The Sharpest Yet

The Edge ST offers a Sport Mode that provides heightened throttle response, rev-matched downshifts on braking, sharper engine braking and gear-holding in cornering.

The Ford Edge has been updated for 2019. The engine's also mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission (instead of the old six-speed slushbox), with standard all-wheel drive - but while the steering wheel has paddle shifters, sadly a manual is not available.

While the Edge ST may not be offered to United Kingdom buyers, standard models in the United Kingdom will benefit from the raft of visual changes such as the reshaped headlamps and grille brought in by the facelifted model. In fairness, it probably won't come to the United Kingdom but America should lap it up - or at least that's what Ford is hoping. The reveal shows off a lightly face-lifted model with simplified powertrain options and a new high-performance ST version replacing the Sport model.

Nintendo Direct Mini January 2018: Every Nintendo Switch Game Announced
The sport title will be released this spring and promises to be a multiplayer go-to game, but with a single-player story mode too. Nintendo held an early morning Nintendo Direct Mini , and we've got the whole thing for you to watch right here.

Outside, however, the Edge looks exactly how an ST should.

The 2019 model comes standard with forward-collision warning, dynamic-brake support, pre-collision assist, pedestrian detection, blind-spot detection, cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping alert and assist, automatic high beams and hill-start assist. It features the twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 found in the Fusion Sport, but making slightly more power here - 335 hp and 380 pounds-feet of torque. Standard 2019 Edge SUVs will get a 2.0L EcoBoost engine with 5hp more power and better fuel economy than the outgoing model.

And in the Edge Sport, it provided 315 horsepower. Drivers can also upgrade to SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen for enhanced in-vehicle experience.

Walmart boosts starting pay
The company also said it's moving production of the Ram heavy-duty truck from Saltillo, Mexico, to Warren, Michigan, in 2020. Walmart plans to start paying its one million USA workers at least $ 11 an hour and give them a one-off cash bonus.

Nevertheless, compared to the previous Edge, the new model has expanded its suite of driver-assist and safety technologies to include post-collision braking, evasive-steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane-centring functions.

It is the first Ford SUV to have been tuned by Ford Performance, who are of course the same people who designed and built the GT supercar.

There's a new onboard WiFi system capable of connecting to as many as 10 different wireless devices, even if you're outside the vehicle, say, for a tailgate party.

But London mayor Sadiq Khan - who has clashed with the president in the past - was one of those not buying that excuse. Mr Trump's tweet cancelling his visit sparked a welcome reaction from some politicians.

Ford also refreshed the regular Edge with tech features that include the ability to locate, unlock, start, and lock the auto with a mobile app and connect up to 10 devices using in-car WiFi. It gets a new front end with a wider grille and refreshed fascia, new LED headlights (standard), LED fog lamps and DRLs, as well as a redesigned hood.
