Royal lingerie firm Rigby & Peller loses warrant after 58 years

June Kenton's autobiography, Storm in a D Cup, published a year ago, told of her experiences of fitting bras for the Queen. She later sold off a majority stake in the company in 2011, but remains on the board.

Ms Kenton received a letter from the Lord Chamberlain past year stating that Rigby & Peller was to lose its royal warrant as a result of the autobiography.

For centuries, royal warrants have been issued to trades people and companies who regularly supply goods or services to the monarchy. "I just think the world of them".

A statement from Rigby & Peller said, however, it was "deeply saddened" by the decision.

'Unfortunately when we launched it, it was made out to be a kiss and tell, which it absolutely wasn't.

'This is hard for me to say, but I don't want her to go with this, ' she said.

Peter Beardsley takes leave of absence amid bullying, racism claims
Neither Beardsley or the club are commenting on the allegations. The complainants are due to give their evidence later this week. " Peter Beardsley categorically denies the allegations".

Kenton has been in the lingerie industry for 60 years, and had been working for the Royal Family since the 1980s.

She also claimed that Princess Diana accepted posters of models wearing lingerie and swimwear for Prince William and Prince Harry to display in their Eton dorms.

Queen Elizabeth's official bra-fitter has lost her privileged job after she published her decades-old experience in a tell-all book.

Since the incident, Ms Kenton explained that it was never her intention to upset anyone. I apologise for anything I might have done or said in the book.

The company has held a royal warrant since in 1960.

Department store Harrods had its royal warrant withdrawn from the Duke of Edinburgh in 2000.

Who else has lost a royal warrant?

'No-one from Buckingham Palace said a word to us at the time, no-one expressed any unhappiness.

For 57 years, Rigby & Peller enjoyed the royal warrant as the queen's bra fitter.

Russell Tanguay, director of warrants at the Royal Warrant Holders Association (RWHA) who confirmed that Rigby & Peller lost its licence in the middle 2016, said that the RWHA does not "go into detail" about individual companies.

"However, the company will continue to provide an exemplary and discreet service to its clients", it said. Currently, these companies are granted warrants for up to five years by either the Queen, Prince Philip, or Prince Charles.

But the BBC understood that Prince Philip was angered by allegations made by owner Mohamed al Fayed accusing the Duke of masterminding the 1997 auto crash in Paris that killed Diana, Princess of Wales and his son Dodi.
