Twitter explains why it won't block Trump

In a short statement posted to their blog, Twitter have explained why that is. They are also planning a protest for Wednesday night.

The protests come in response to Trump's tweet regarding a nuclear button that is "bigger and more powerful" than the North Korean leader's.

An activist group is using a projector to put phrases on the outside of Twitter's San Francisco Headquarters, calling out CEO Jack Dorsey, and asking him to leave the company.

Other observers have previously called for Trump to be banned from the service, which has become his favorite way of communicating thoughts on topics from the Russian Federation investigation to threats of pulling foreign aid, for allegedly violating its terms of service by flirting with the possibility of nuclear war. "Jack Dorsey must resign or ban @realDonaldTrump".

LeBron James Refused To Commit To Cleveland When Asked By Dan Gilbert
The four-time all-star is averaging 24.4 points and almost five assists per game this season for Boston. Jae Crowder , who also went to the Cavaliers in the trade , is having his worst season in three years.

The sentiment is understandable.

This is not the first time Twitter has been criticized for "enabling" the president.

It was a response to Kim's New Year's speech in which the young leader warned the USA that he has a nuclear button on his desk at all times.

The rule in question is this: "You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people".

Twitter disagrees that this statement is a "specific threat of violence".

Softbank Plays Hardball On Uber, Gets 30% Discount, Kalanick $1.4 B
Kalanick was forced from his position as chief executive of Uber a year ago after a series of embarrassing revelations. That tender offer, which concluded late last month, values Uber at $48 billion-a.

Trump's veiled threat against North Korea is nothing new. There are good arguments for Twitter to police hate speech, personal harassment, pornography, and other forms of abuse. It was never meant to be a conflict-free zone.

As president, Trump has any number of avenues at his disposal should he want to insult a foreign leader, bash a news organization, or ridicule a celebrity. Would Kim Jong-un? According to this, it sounds like yes. That's in contrast to someone like Milo Yiannopoulos, a professional provocateur who found Twitter to be the most effective and conducive platform from which to broadcast his racism and misogyny. Last year, the U.N. Security Council adopted three sets of sanctions to punish the regime for its banned tests of intercontinental ballistic missiles and its sixth nuclear detonation in September.

"We review tweets by leaders within the political context that defines them, and enforce our rules accordingly", the post said.

Whether Trump has in fact violated Twitter's policies on user behavior is an open debate. It's a sort of milquetoast revenge fantasy, a desire to see Trump chastised or muzzled in some way, and calling Jack Dorsey "complicit" is a disingenuous attempt to enlist his company for that objective.

Senators Martin Heinrich and Ron Wyden asked the Director of National Intelligence, Daniel Coats, to "assess the risk to the United States and to USA interests and personnel" arising from a tweet Trump posted on January 2. The videos disappeared from Trump's when Fransen's account was deleted.

Most pointed reaction by Khawaja Asif to Trump tweet
Pakistan needs to "earn, essentially, the money that we have provided in the past in foreign military assistance", she said. Pakistan , said the sources, would not accept any demands to do more, and could stop all kinds of cooperation with the U.S.

Meanwhile, his thoughtless tweets have supplied fodder for the Mueller investigation and in some cases have verged on self-incrimination. It might be their best hope to end his nightmare of a presidency ahead of schedule.
