A wind chill advisory is in effect across all of Maryland - except for Garrett County and western Allegany County, where a wind chill warning cautions that it could feel as cold as 35 degrees below zero there.

With a few exceptions along the Shore and in South Jersey, most areas of the state have not had temperatures reaching higher than the freezing mark of 32 degrees since December 26 or December 27.

The snow is expected to turn into snow and freezing rain around 1 a.m. Tuesday and continue until early morning, which could make the Tuesday morning commute an icy nightmare. That's nearly 20 degrees below the normal low temperatures for early January.
