Ex-Trump campaign manager Manafort sues Mueller, Rosenstein

Former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort filed a lawsuit Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Washington against the Justice Department, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Special Counsel Robert Mueller alleging that the three entities have exceeded their authority.

Mr Manafort, formerly a key member of Mr Trump's staff, was charged with money laundering and other crimes as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Apple Releases Mitigations to Meltdown for iOS, macOS, and tvOS
Apple has already released mitigations in iOS 11.2, macOS 10.13.2, and tvOS 11.2 to help defend against Meltdown. According to the BBC, Meltdown affects laptops, desktop computers and internet servers with Intel chips.

In October, Manafort and his business partner Rick Gates pleaded not guilty to a 12-count indictment that included allegations of money laundering and making false statements in connection with their work in Ukraine.

He alleges in his lawsuit that the investigation into "decade-old business dealings" is "completely unmoored" from the mandate Mueller was given when he was appointed in May by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The Department of Justice called the suit "frivolous".

There were also concerns within the Justice Department about the close proximity to the election, CNN reported at the time.

Manafort's lawsuit claims the Department of Justice broke the law in appointing Mueller and is challenging Mueller's ability to bring charges against him in regards to the Russian Federation probe. His complaint names the Justice Department, Mueller and Rosenstein, and he is suing under the Administrative Procedure Act and the Declaratory Judgment Act.

"Under the appointment order, the special counsel's authority is not confined to the specific matters identified by politically accountable officials", the complaint says.

Raiders to introduce Jon Gruden as head coach on Tuesday
Gruden, who went just 57-55 in seven seasons in Tampa, was sacked after the Bucs collapsed down the stretch in 2008. He has been with ESPN since 2009, having last coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2008.

But many Trump backers took issue with Waters' poem of support to Mueller. It claims the probe into Manafort "has extended far beyond 'links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump'". Manafort claims that he has suffered "significant reputational harm, financial expense, and invasion of his personal privacy". A spokesperson for the special counsel's office declined to comment.
