Congress MLA Asha Kumari slaps woman constable in Shimla, gets it back

"The lady constable misbehaved with me, abused me and nearly beat me up, but I should not have lost my calm".

In the spur of moment, the Congress MLA could not show the entry pass and she was pushed back by woman constables.

Neither Kumari nor Himachal Pradesh police has commented over the incident.

In a video, Congress MLA Asha Kumari can be seen slapping a woman constable and getting slapped back. Asha Kumari, the MLA, is a senior Congress leader. In a matter of seconds, Kumari was left bewildered when the said lady constable retaliated, slapping the veteran Congress legislator in return.

"I am not happy with it". According to ANI, the police were allegedly denying Kumari entry into Congress chief Rahul Gandhi's review meeting, which angered her.

At a Congress meeting later, Rahul said it was not Congress culture to slap anybody.

Kumari has lodged a complaint against the woman constable, requesting an FIR in this regard. He met party legislators, party candidates and district presidents, to discuss what went wrong in the elections.

During a day-long visit to Shimla, the Congress President will review the party's performance in the recently-held Himachal Pradesh assembly election.

The Himachal Pradesh assembly elections were held on December 9 and December 14, where the BJP bagged 44 constituencies of the contested 68, while the Congress had to suffer defeat as it managed to secure 20 seats only.
