Clouds and rain are back for Sunday

Sunday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. No accumulation would be expected at this time. High temperatures return to the mid-50s for Monday and Tuesday, with the chance for a few rain showers each day.

Saturday afternoon's temperatures will "warm" to a range of upper 40s to low 50s. not necessarily a good holiday shopping day.

Warmer temperatures take over Sunday with mostly sunny skies. At the moment, we know Friday's cold front will bring a big cooldown to the mid-south for the weekend.

A number for Bigelow Aerospace in Las Vegas was not answered Saturday, and voice mail for the number was out of order. The Times quoted Elizondo as saying that his successor at the Pentagon was continuing with investigative efforts.


MONDAY: We'll keep some showers in our area particularly for those south of US-82 towards Jackson and Meridian, but we should mix some sunshine in during the day.

A few quiet days through the middle of the week, with above normal temperatures.

Look for increasing clouds and temperatures falling to near 40 overnight.

Once again today our weather is being influenced by an upper-level trough of low pressure to the west and southwest of Central Texas. This cold air mass looks to stick around through Christmas week.

The first taste of snow as we head into the Christmas weekend is possible as we head from Thursday night into Friday morning. Rain becomes less persistent east of Interstate 65 into Madison, Marshall, Jackson, and DeKalb Counties on Sunday; we'll still get some, but it won't be as heavy or as impactful as the rain in Franklin, Lauderdale and Colbert Counties. For the rest of the week we'll dry up and see partly cloudy skies, but we'll stay cold.
