Salma Hayek claims that Harvey Weinstein threatened to kill her

But, she wrote, she found herself rebuffing sexual advances and requests from Weinstein.

A-lister Salma Hayek on Wednesday joined the scores of actresses to accuse Harvey Weinstein, alleging that the fallen Hollywood mogul sexually harassed her, subjected her to escalating rage and once threatened to kill her. But Hayek was inspired to tell her story by the women who have spoken out "especially in a society that elected a president who has been accused of sexual harassment and assault by more than a dozen women and whom we have all heard make a statement about how a man in power can do anything he wants to women". It's one of the only times he has spoken out about the many, many allegations made against him.

Hayek explains that she was first introduced to Weinstein by director Robert Rodriguez and producer Elizabeth Avellan and says that "knowing what I know now, I wonder if it wasn't my friendship with them - and Quentin Tarantino and George Clooney - that saved me from being raped".

"No to opening the door to him at all hours of the night, hotel after hotel, location after location, where he would show up unexpectedly, including one location where I was doing a movie he wasnt even involved with. We were about five weeks into shooting, and I had convinced so many talented people to participate", Hayek wrote. By now so many years of my life had gone into this film.

"I trusted him. Harvey could never know how much those words meant to me". And he demanded full-frontal was clear to me he would never let me finish this movie without him having his fantasy one way or another. No to giving him a chance to give me a back rub. She claims she frequently had to reject his sexual propositions, which included Weinstein asking her to take a shower with him or letting him watch her shower, asking to give her a massage, asking her to let a naked friend of his give her a massage, asking her for oral sex, and asking her to get naked with another woman. On another occasion, Hayek writes, Weinstein began "physically dragging me out of the opening gala of the Venice Film Festival, which was in honor of Frida, so I could hang out at his private party with him". "No to getting naked with another woman". "No, no, no, no, no ..."

Once the film was finished, Weinstein said it wasn't good enough to be in theaters and would go straight to video. "No, no, no, no, no", she wrote.

He even threatened to kill her, she said.

While working on Frida, Hayek says that Weinstein demanded that she'd "do a sex scene with another woman..."

Guardiola: Record counts for nothing unless City win title
Of course we were lucky in some moments and we scored in the last minutes, I remember at Bournemouth for example. So many good athletes, so many intelligent footballers and it's really hard to pin them down.

Hayek agreed to do the scene in order to save the movie. She said, "This was not sexy, but it was the only way I could get through the scene". She was "crying and convulsing" at the thought of filming it exclusively to assuage Weinstein, she writes, and started throwing up-to the point that she "had to take a tranquilizer, which eventually stopped the crying but made the vomiting worse", she writes.

Hayek said she had stayed silent until now out of "cowardice" and a belief her voice "wasn't important".

His rage and resentment spilled over to the production of Frida, which he tried to end with a bitter legal dispute.
