'Dangal' fame Zaira Wasim allegedly molested on flight; Airline says 'inquiry underway'

The actor's manager later claimed that the Vistara flight crew did not come to her aid on being informed about the incident. She used her Instagram to speak about the incident. The actor alleged that she was molested by a co-passenger aboard one of its flights between Delhi and Mumbai. "If yes, please provide the footage of the entire flight journey of Wasim".

"We have submitted an initial incident report to the DGCA, and have also submitted all necessary details to the Police".

"Members of our senior management have flown to Mumbai to meet Ms. Zaira Wasim and assist in the investigation process", the statement further read.

According to reports, she was not the only one onboard the flight to have faced the same ordeal. "Managed to get this", Zaira posted with a snapshot of the man's foot, which was rested on her arm rest.The star then added: "The lights were dimmed, so it was even worse".

Vistara's statements came a few hours after the 17-year-old took to Instagram to share how a passenger kept rubbing his foot against her back and neck while she was travelling from New Delhi to Mumbai on the night of Saturday, December 9.

"This is not done, I am disturbed.Is this how you're going to take care of girls?"

Sharing the traumatic experience on an Instagram chat, the actor said that this was not how one should be treated or made to feel... this is bad. But We should condemn that incident instead of judging her!

Maharashtra State Commission for Women (MSCW) Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar condemned it as a "shameful incident". "This is awful. No one will help up if we don't decide to help ourselves", she said. Many, including Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti, spoke out in Wasim's support. As a mother of two daughters, I am appalled at what happened with @zairawasimz.
