Trump Shows Love For Moore, Dismisses Accuser At Rally

Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore is facing more heavy criticism on Twitter - for more than just the sexual misconduct allegations against him that have dominated headlines for weeks. Mr Trump asked a cheering crowd in Pensacola, Florida - which is located about 25 miles from the Alabama border. Democrat Doug Jones, civil rights hero, is very close in the polls. Referring to the woman's attorney, Gloria Allred, Trump said "anytime you see her you know something's wrong". The president strongly supports the former judge despite multiple accusations of sexual misconduct.

Attorney Gloria Allred (R) and Beverly Young Nelson hold up a picture showing a message and a signature of Roy Moore during a press conference on November 13, 2017, in NY, alledging that Roy Moore sexually assaulted Nelson when she was a minor in Alabama without her consent.

Beverly Young Nelson, 55, alleges that Moore sexually abused her at age 16.

"We can not afford, the future of this country can not afford to lose the seat", Trump said, referring to his party's narrow 52-48 advantage in the Senate. "We don't need a Liberal person in there, a Democrat Jones", Trump said.

At a rally Friday in Pensacola, Florida, which is near the Alabama border, the President pointed to someone in the audience and said: "This guy is screaming, 'We want Roy Moore.' He is right".

President Trump's remarks on Moore Friday night was the first time he has touted the candidate in a political campaign setting, but the president has previously made supportive statements about Moore's candidacy - tweeting on Friday morning "VOTE ROY MOORE!". Alabama has voted Republican in every presidential election since 1980, demonstrating the hold the party has over the state.
