Federation Internationale de Football Association suspends Peru star Guerrero for one year

With his suspension, Guerrero will be unable to play in games, official or friendly, for 365 days from November 3, 2017.

"Stimulants", following a doping control test conducted after the match of the preliminary competition of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ played in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 5 October 2017.

An official FIFA statement reads: "On 7 December 2017, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided, after analysing all the specific circumstances of the case, to suspend the Peruvian global player Paolo Guerrero for one year".

Peru captain Paolo Guerrero will miss the World Cup after being banned by Federation Internationale de Football Association for one year because of a positive test for cocaine.

Guerrero, 33, has 32 goals in 86 worldwide appearances with Peru. Guerrero, who used to play for German club Bayern Munich, made his global debut in 2004 and has 83 caps, scoring 32 goals.
