New weather warning issued this morning for LOTS of ice and snow

Met Éireann forecaster John Eagleton said there is unlikely to be snow during the daytime but snow will gather on higher ground.

Accumulations of up to three centimetres are possible in parts while icy conditions are likely on the roads.

The warning was released this evening after 4pm and is valid until tomorrow, Friday 8 December, at 6pm.

GARDAI have issued a warning about snow and ice as a national weather alert remains in place.

AA Roadwatch warned road users of wind-blown debris, especially on coastal routes after a night of rain and high winds.

"It's worth remembering that ice can even form on treated roads, so please do take extra care when driving tomorrow. Lowest temperatures -2 to +3 degrees, coldest inland in the north".
