Max Hospital twin baby case transferred to Crime Branch

Max Hospital twin baby case transferred to Crime Branch

The services of two doctors at a leading private hospital in Indian capital city New Delhi were terminated for incorrectly declared newly born twins "dead", while one of them was alive, officials said Monday.

Last Thursday, a doctor at Max Hospital in New Delhi's Shalimar Bagh delivered a set of twins - a boy and a girl - according to The Hindustran Times. "We ripped it open, found bits of plastic and the baby inside, breathing".

"I couldn't believe my eyes", said Praveen Mailk, the twins' grandfather to CNN.

Local media reports said that the 22-week premature baby was kept on life support for five days but died during his treatment at another medical facility late Tuesday.

Iran, which supports the Houthis but denies arming them, welcomed Saleh's killing, saying it had put an end to a Saudi conspiracy. Following Saleh's death, the Saudi-led coalition was reported to have blitzed Sanaa with an intensified campaign of airstrikes.

"While the inquiry by the expert group which includes external experts from IMA is still in process, we have made a decision to terminate the services of the two treating doctors, Dr A P Mehta and Dr Vishal Gupta in the case relating to the twin extreme pre-term babies", Max Healthcare said in a statement.

"We are shaken and concerned at this rare incident", the hospital said in a statement USA Today reported. "We are managing to maintain his vitals at the moment but the condition is very serious", said Dr Sandeep Gupta, from the Centre. "They haven't told us whether he'll survive".

"We want the Delhi government to take strict action against the hospital authorities for their negligence", Malik told reporters.

A panel formed by the Delhi government to look into the case yesterday found Max Hospital guilty of not following prescribed medical norms in dealing with newborn infants.

Hunt to Facebook: 'Stay away from my kids'
Messenger Kids is also created to be compliant with the Children's Online Privacy and Protection Act ( COPPA ). Although, Facebook hasn't made any official statements yet regarding why Facebook messenger has gone down.

"We wish to clarify that this action should not presuppose finding of any lapse by the expert group and should not be construed in any way to be anything other than an expression of our continued commitment to providing quality healthcare", the statement from Max Healthcare said. The preliminary report was sought within 72 hours and final report within a week.

State Health Minister Satyendar Jain tweeted last week that he has ordered an inquiry "into this unacceptable act". As per the report, no ECG tracings have been done to trace whether the child was alive or not.

Two doctors have since been fired from the hospital as a result.
