"It's a compliment to him, his staff and the players for the tremendous strides we've made over the past two years, and their hard work has been rewarded with a New Year's Day bowl".

It was announced that the Gamecocks will head to the Outback Bowl for a game against the Michigan Wolverines in Tampa, Florida.

He added former prime minister Morarji Desai was denied the chance to lead the country even if the party members voted in his favour.

The Wolverines (8-4) will face SC (8-4), it was announced Sunday during the official bowl pairings show on ESPN. MI lost to four teams that were 9-3 or better, including three in New Year's Six bowls (Penn State, Ohio State, Wisconsin). That wiped out a potential Big Ten bowl bid to the Orlando, Fla. -hosted Citrus Bowl, where Michigan State was projected to play. The Orange Bowl is required to take the Big Ten's top-ranked non-champion, so Wisconsin is heading to Miami.

Instead, the 9-3 Spartans fell two bowls to the Holiday Bowl Dec. 28 in San Diego, where they'll play Washington State, McMurphy reports.

It's also the third all-time meeting on the football field between the two schools, with MI scoring a win in 1985. Michigan's night game at Penn State on ABC on October 21 had the best overnight rating across all networks.

MI is coming off a 31-20 loss to Ohio State in the final regular-season game, while SC is coming off a 34-10 loss to Clemson. "We look forward to hosting the Wolverine and Gamecock teams and their fans, and ensure them they will have an unbelievable and memorable experience in the Tampa Bay area".

The teams have a common opponent, Florida, which they both beat.

The Gamecocks have been bowl-eligible in 13 of the past 14 seasons.
