White House Plays Down Importance Of Flynn Guilty Plea

White House Plays Down Importance Of Flynn Guilty Plea

Flynn has promised special counsel Robert Mueller his full cooperation as he pleads guilty to lying to the FBI, ABC News' Brian Ross reported on Friday.

In the court document, Mueller says Flynn made false statements to Federal Bureau of Investigation agents when he denied asking the Russian ambassador in December 2016 to "refrain from escalating the situation" in response to the sanctions.

Flynn is at the center of a broader investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into the Russian meddling in the 2016 US Presidential election campaign.

His son, Michael Flynn Jr., also is not now facing any charges, despite widespread reporting of his travels overseas with his father, and his connections to his lobbying business.

Flynn is the most senior member of the Trump administration to have been indicted by the special counsel thus far. A spokesperson for the White House also did not immediately respond. Only then, with top-level approval to discuss sanctions, did Flynn call the Russian ambassador.

Kroger (KR) Updates FY18 Earnings Guidance
Zacks Investment Research upgraded shares of Kroger from a "sell" rating to a "hold" rating in a report on Monday, February 20th. The firm owned 6,715,387 shares of the company's stock after acquiring an additional 18,468 shares during the quarter.

Michael Flynn's guilty plea opens more doors than it closes.

The two-page charging document makes reference to two separate conversations with Kislyak, and to separate false statements prosecutors say he made regarding that communication.

He is the first official who worked in the Trump White House to make a guilty plea in a wide-ranging investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller into possible co-ordination between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign to influence the outcome of the 2016 election. Administration officials said Flynn had not discussed sanctions that had been imposed on Russian Federation in part over election meddling.

At President Barack Obama's direction, the U.S. abstained from voting on the resolution, a rare move that allowed the UN Security Council to unanimously condemn Israeli's settlement activity.

At the time, Israel was lobbying furiously against the resolution and President-elect Trump's team spoke up on behalf of the Jewish state.

Teenager claims she has had 50 surgeries to look like Angelina Jolie
The surgeries haven't been confirmed and some are claiming her look could be a result of make-up or photo editing skills. Some online critics have commented on her "zombie-like" appearance. "It's just makeup", added another.

The White House cancelled a meeting between Trump and the press, while White House lawyer Ty Cobb said nothing about Flynn's guilty plea "implicates anyone other than Mr Flynn".

"As to the United Nations, things will be different after January 20th", Trump said, referencing his upcoming inauguration.

"The false statements involved mirror the false statements to White House officials which resulted in his resignation in February of this year", Cobb said. The next day, Trump met privately with then-FBI Director James B. Comey.

Comey has previously said that Trump asked him during a private Oval Office encounter if he could let the Flynn investigation go, something the White House has denied happening in the way Comey described.

If the government has agreed not to prosecute Flynn on the much more serious charges his alleged connections with Russian Federation could have triggered, then it's probably getting something very significant in return.
