Reynolds broadcast the aftermath of the shooting to millions on Facebook Live. After the shooting, the Roseville police department detained Reynolds and Minnesota officials questioned her about the incident.

The settlement resolves Reynolds' claims of "emotional distress and false arrest", a statement on St. Anthony's website stated.

He then explained that his declaration that Reynolds would spend $800,000 on crack wasn't meant to be a racist statement, but was rather a statement of concern for how people who win large settlements often invest that money unwisely.

Shortly before the mortar attack, a siren went off in the area surrounding the Gaza Strip. Jonathan Conricus said there were no casualties from the Palestinian mortar attacks.

In addition to the $675,000 from St. Anthony, Reynolds and her daughter will separately receive $125,000 from the city of Roseville and the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust, according to a news release issued by St. Anthony after Tuesday night's meeting. Part of the settlement is to remain in a trust for Reynolds' daughter which she shares with Castile. Jerry Faust, the mayor of St. Anthony, said in a statement that the agreement "opens the door to continued healing within our community". As The Washington Post reported, the settlement still has to be approved by a court.

Officer Jeronimo Yanez, who shot Castile and was accused of second-degree manslaughter, was acquitted in June. Although she and her lawyer did not file a lawsuit in court, they prepared one that they shared with city officials before Tuesday's meeting.

This news comes just a few months after the city of St. Anthony agreed to pay Philando Castile's mother, Valerie Castile nearly $3 million.

A city council member, Randy Stille, said, "In order to further avoid further burden and expense to the City of St Anthony Village and to a bring to close all litigation relating to the tragic death of Philando Castile, the city has determined the approval of the settlement is in the best interest of St. Anthony Village".
