New Samsung technology helps batteries charge faster and last longer

New Samsung technology helps batteries charge faster and last longer

Graphene is thin carbon film removed from graphite which is 100 times more conductive than copper and capable of moving electrons more than 140 times faster than silicon.

Not wanting to trigger another reputation-tarnishing debacle, Samsung has been treading carefully when it comes to introducing new battery technology - so it's safe to say it will be a while before it leaves the company's research facility.

According to SAIT, the new graphene ball material will make the batteries charge 5 times faster and at the same time increase capacity by 45 percent.

SAIT's team used a chemical vapor deposition process to grow a graphene-silica assembly, called a graphene ball.

Watford boss Marco Silva admits friendship with Jose Mourinho is on hold
He's already done it once, 10 months ago when he masterminded Hull's 2-1 League Cup victory over United . Watford have no fresh injuries for the visit of Manchester United .

While these aren't insignificant - I'm rather happy to own a phone that reaches more than 50% of its full charge in half an hour - smartphone battery life standby times have hovered around the one-to-two day mark for the past five years or more.

The company's experts were able to synthesize graphene balls.

United Kingdom bill would give police the power to seize drones
The Airport Operators Association (AOA ) has welcomed British Government plans to introduce new laws concerning the use of drones. We believe this is the most effective way to ensure that unsafe drone use does not have major consequences.

Samsung has filed patents for this graphene ball in both the United States and South Korea, but it's unclear for the time being when we'll see this technology implemented into smartphones that we can actually buy and use. "It is expected that it will take about five years to produce the finished product", said an official in the battery industry.

SAIT has published a detailed report on Nature this month. A number other manufacturers are researching long-lasting cells - and Samsung could quite easily license its technology, too. As its result, the new batteries is also suitable for electric automobiles, where the batteries are subjected to high temperature.

CBS Cancels Jeremy Piven Show Amid Sexual Assault Allegations
