A fairly strong low moves into the Pacific Northwest on Wednesday, bringing with it more drenching rains for Washington and OR that may cause some flight delays.

Some of these lake effect snow showers could make it all the way to eastern New England this morning with a few flurries.

High pressure in the southeast USA will keep rain chances low for the remainder of Monday.

Friday's warmer wind will boost temperatures into the 40s over most of the Great Lakes region, with some 50s in Wisconsin and IL. The only chance for rain before the holiday will come in eastern parts of the state late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. Some moisture will also try to move up from the south along this frontal system to enhance the shower activity, but the models all agree this won't reach into Maine. You should expect wet roads Wednesday morning and the first few hours of the afternoon, especially along the coast. An occasional light snow shower or flurry is likely, both due to upslope northwesterly flow in the Adirondacks and Green Mountains and favorable WNW fetch across Lake Ontario providing lake-effect snow showers through central NY and into southern Vermont.

It will still be a chill day for travel, but most locations in the Great Lakes will warm above freezing.

If you're traveling outside of the Carolinas, the biggest weather concerns will be found in the Pacific Northwest.
