USA considers special investigation of Clinton Foundation

During a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, Ranking Member John Conyers (D-MI) asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions yes or no questions about the appropriateness of President Trump's public efforts to meddle in the work of the Department of Justice.

Those details complicate Sessions' effort to downplay knowledge of the campaign's foreign contacts.

Republicans have argued that Clinton was improperly involved in the approval, although they have not offered evidence.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has directed federal prosecutors to "evaluate certain issues" involving Hillary Clinton's alleged corruption in a deal which gave Russian company Rosatom control over 20 percent of America's uranium supply. "But, honestly, they should be looking at the Democrats".

It was the former senator's first time before the House Judiciary Committee, and Democrats on the committee had signaled in advance they meant to press the administration's top legal official on a host of issues, not the least of which is the ongoing Russian Federation investigation.

Jazz C Gobert to miss a month with bone bruise
And now, regardless of intent, the Jazz will be without their best player for arguably the toughest stretch of their season. Gobert limped off the court following the collision and called it a "dirty play" afterward, according to the Deseret News .

"You said one time that good people don't smoke marijuana", Cohen said, referring to statements Sessions made as a Senator a year ago.

Sessions responded, "I did not, and I'm not aware of anyone else that did, and I don't believe it happened".

Sessions has previously told Congress he was unaware of any Trump campaign contacts with Russian Federation, leading Democrats on Tuesday to accuse him of lying under oath.

Sessions said that was the version of events he recalled.

He said during January's confirmation hearing that he was unaware of such communications.

Martin O'Neill leads tributes to Liam Miller following cancer diagnosis
In recent years the Cork-born player has plied his trade in Australia, the Republic of Ireland and the United States. Ex-Celtic defender Darren O'Dea, now with Dundee, said: 'All my thoughts and love with Liam Miller and his family'.

Sessions again refused to answer, saying that "under the politics of the Department of Justice, to announce recusal in any investigation would reveal the existence of that investigation".

But that narrative has been challenged by a pair of recent events, most notably a guilty plea from George Papadopoulos, who last month admitted in court to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about his own foreign contacts. Democrats have said they plan to ask Sessions about what they see as the discrepancies, some of which he has yet to address publicly. Sessions is leaving open the possibility that a special counsel could be appointed to look into Clinton Foundation dealings and an Obama-era uranium deal. He has "no clear recollection" of the March 2016 meeting where George Papadopoulos offered to set up a meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin - but the attorney general does remember shooting down the campaign aide's unseemly suggestion.

In what will be Sessions' fourth testimony before lawmakers in a year, the attorney general is expected to answer questions about his contact with Russian officials during the Trump campaign. They see her alleged role as a scandal, particularly amid charges the Trump campaign colluded with Russian Federation in the 2016 presidential election.

Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores declined to comment Monday.
