4th person killed in Tampa area in possible shooting spree

A murder on Tuesday morning in Tampa, Fla., is being treated by police as the latest in a string of killings believed to be carried out by a serial killer.

Shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a shooting call and found 60-year-old Ronald Felton dead in the street. A Tampa Police Department officer was in the area when the shots were fired and immediately went to the shooting scene.

During a candlelight vigil on October 22, Jacqueline and Jose Melendez mourn the deaths of the first three people killed in a spate of shootings in Tampa's Seminole Heights neighborhood. His younger brother, James, told WFLA News Channel 8 Felton helped other members of the congregation feed the homeless when he's not working.

Police ask people to review any surveillance cameras they might have and share it with investigators.

Fifer said he stayed indoors on Halloween and has heard from neighbors who feel jumpy just passing someone on the street.

"They called me and said you need to get to the church right away - it's your brother".

TAX REFORM: Tax jump for households earning under $200K
Brady's committee approved its bill last week, and it's headed for a planned vote of the full House this week. A key feature of both bills is a reduction in the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 20 percent.

"When I'm done here, I'm going to meet the family of Mr. Felton", Dugan said. "My family is taking it real hard".

Relatives said Felton, more commonly known as "Ronny", was the kind of man who would give someone the shirt off his back if they needed it.

Ronald Felton's bicycle was found next to his church.

Many children in Southeast Seminole Heights were unable to go to school today as they were instructed not to leave their homes if they lived within the perimeter.

Officers are continuing to gather information and are searching the neighborhood as the investigation continues. "Here he is, helping the community, serving out of a food pantry and lost his life this morning".

Police described the suspect as a light-skinned, black male with a thin build standing between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall. He was wearing black clothing and was armed with a large black pistol, police said.

To sweeten the deal, they can bring home any pre-owned game for free for their troubles. The service soft-launched this week, so that could be where the issues were discovered.

The man is dead and police are calling the incident suspicious.

Tampa police are offering up to $35,000 for information about the slayings.

Three other people have been murdered in Seminole Heights since October.

Police believe the four killings, none of which involved a robbery or other obvious motive, may be related.

On Oct. 9, Benjamin Mitchell, 22, was shot in Seminole Heights while waiting for a bus. He died from his injuries. They have released surveillance videos of a hooded suspect after the earlier shootings.

Two days after Mitchell was shot, Monica Hoffa, 32, was gunned down. Two days later Monica Hoffa, 31, was gunned down and on October 19, Anthony Naiboa, 20, was shot after he took the wrong bus home from his job.
