Some Eastern Shore residents participate in nation-wide National Football League boycott

Burko and other members of the Polish American Veterans Club in Plains Township refused to watch NFL games on Sunday as part of a nationwide boycott of the league on Veterans Day weekend.

Football fans who are exhausted of NFL players taking a knee during the playing of the national anthem are showing their displeasure this Veterans Day weekend by refusing to watch the games on TV.

Lower Burrell and Jeannette veterans organizations will boycott the Pittsburgh Steelers game Sunday amid a national boycott of all NFL games as part of Veterans Day observances this weekend.

As a result, Veterans Day weekend games have sparked interest, as many were eager to see what the players would do during the national anthem. Players have said they're protesting unfair treatment of minorities by law enforcement.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Washington Redskins: Preview and prediction
Keenum should not struggle too bad against Washington, but he will probably not have a big game Sunday, either. But now in at least two victories, the Vikings have had touchdown celebrations with strong Minnesota ties.

Burko, a Bear Creek resident who served in the Navy from 1975-1979, said he has not bought or worn any National Football League apparel this season.

Eric Reid and Marquise Goodwin protested on the 49ers sideline, while the Giants' Olivier Vernon knelt on the NY sideline.

The Lower Burrell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 92 will not broadcast Sunday's 1 p.m. matchup between the Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts because of "the lack of respect by the National Football League of our flag and our country", according to a sign on the Lower Burrell VFW's door at its Wildlife Lodge Road site.

I've got news for Mr. Bennett.

Lakers' Ball youngest player to hit triple-double
Ball finished the game, which Milwaukee won by the final score of 98-90, with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists . The loss to the Bucks puts the Lakers at 5-8 on the season, while Giannis Antetokounmpo's squad moves to 6-6.

During the organization's monthly meeting a few weeks ago, the board unanimously agreed to boycott all National Football League games this weekend. Many players and teams did show support of the military.

The ESPN count on those kneeling came before the Sunday night game between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos, all of whose players have stood for the anthem in recent weeks.

About six to eight Seahawks players had been sitting or kneeling during the anthem, but defensive end Michael Bennett (one of the leading kneelers) said the team made a decision to stand as a show of support for the military in honor of Veterans Day.
