Windies to tour Pakistan for T20I series in March next year

In what comes as a breath of fresh air for fans of cricket in Pakistan, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi confirmed that West Indies would be playing a series consisting of three T20Is in Lahore, in March next year.

Confirmation by the West Indies board has come in after a successful Sri Lanka visit to Pakistan for the third Twenty20Internationl of a series of three that Pakistan won.

Sethi also confirmed that the proposed West Indies' tour to Pakistan has also been rescheduled to March next year, which will be first of the series agreed between the two boards.

Earlier, the tour, which was due to take place in November, was postponed due to adverse weather conditions in Lahore. Sethi said they will play some matches in the United States. "WICB will send its full-strength national team in 2018 and will play three T20Is [on] March 29, 31 and April 1".

Pakistan hosted Zimbabwe for a limited over series in 2015 followed by the staging of the final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Twenty20 series with a World XI - both this year. This is not a one-off series, we have tied up with the Windies for a period of five years.
