Rocket launch rescheduled after aircraft enters restricted space

Within 2 minutes of the scheduled launch time of 7:37 a.m., Orbital OTK scrapped the launch saying a "small aircraft" was flying at about 500 feet some 6 miles offshore.

The launch of an Orbital ATK Antares rocket from NASA's Wallops Island Flight Facility in Virginia is scheduled for 7:37 a.m. Saturday, and, weather permitting, will be visible from CT to North Carolina. Past launches have met a series of weather delays, but NASA is expecting a 95 percent favorable forecast.

A rocket launch on Virginia's Eastern Shore should be visible across Northern Virginia on Saturday morning. The next launch attempt is set for Sunday, Nov. 12 at 7:14 a.m. EST. FAA is investigating the incident. "We are now de-tanking and will be ready to go (Sunday) morning".

The cargo will help researchers conduct studies on how space's microgravity affects the E.coli bacteria's resistance to antibiotics.

This is Orbital's eighth commercial resupply mission to the ISS under a $1.9 billion contract with NASA.
