'Mad Men' creator Matthew Weiner accused of sexual harassing, firing writer

Matthew Weiner - the face behind famed TV series Mad Men - has also been splattered with dirt after the show's writer Kater Gordon levelled allegations of sexual harassment against him, marking yet another case of rich, powerful men using their authority and influence to silence victims of their ego. While working together late one night, she alleges he said she owed it to him to let him see her naked.

One year after the alleged incident, Gordon was let go from the series.

Gordon says she told a colleague at the time of Weiner's comment, but didn't report the incident for fear of reprisals.

Weiner, in response, released a statement via a spokesperson.

It now seems that the second half of 2017 may itself go down in history as a moment of significant social change, thanks to the flood of revelations of sexual harassment and assault by high-profile individuals-mainly, but not exclusively against women-in the entertainment industry, politics and elsewhere. She was sacked a year later, which prompted media to speculate on the reasons, since she had just shared an Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series Emmy in 2009 with Weiner. "I eventually walked away instead of fighting back", she added.

"I knew immediately when he crossed the boundary that it was wrong", Gordon told The Information.

Weiner asked her to write another two episodes afterwards, but eventually fired her and allegedly told her she had "fallen short" of expectations. And he championed me.

"During the nine years he was showrunner on Mad Men, Mr Weiner had a predominantly female driven writers room".

Nikki Finke then squashed that story by speaking to a writer she claimed was close to both Gordon and Weiner who said: 'She totally got the show and deserved the break she got. "I couldn't in good conscious support him the way I did the previous year".

AJ Green Fined $42K for Fight with Jalen Ramsey, Won't Appeal
Ramsey said his trash talking did not include any references to Green's personal life. Whatever I'm going to say. "I'm going to let y'all know that's not true".

Gordon was eventually let go a few weeks after winning the 2009 Emmy, with the writer claiming that Weiner broke the news to her by telling her how she had "fallen short" and "was bad at everything". It was only when she read accounts of Harvey Weinstein's notorious bullying that she recalled how Weiner treated her, and made a decision to found a victims' advocacy group called Modern Alliance. "I spent a couple days feeling down and feeling upset and aimless".
