Disney's Streaming Service Will Cost 'Substantially' Less than Netflix

Disney's Streaming Service Will Cost 'Substantially' Less than Netflix

But it seems Disney's streaming service, which is set to debut in 2019, is going to make waves as soon as it drops thanks to some huge content additions.

Disney announced this year their plans to build a streaming service to compete with Netflix, Hulu, and other SVOD entertainment options.

The new streaming service will offer the latest Disney, Pixar, Marvel and "Star Wars" feature films in the first pay TV window. I can't get specific with you yet, because we haven't determined it yet.

Packers cut tight end Martellus Bennett
The storied franchise has lost three straight games and now have made a decision to part ways with tight end Martellus Bennett . McCarthy said the 10th-year veteran won't practice this week as Bennett continues to gather more information on the injury.

The news about a new Marvel series is not surprising, considering its Disney other most valuable property; though, it does raise the question of what will happen to the studio's other television shows.

While Disney's moves to create its own solo platform and remove its content from Netflix surprised many, Chief Strategy Officer Kevin Mayer has insisted it is "not an anti-Netflix move, but a pro-Disney move". "Our goal is to attract as many subs as possible starting out, ' he said, reflecting his desire to build up a massive audience".

Disney stock was up 2.6%, near 105.30, in afternoon trading. For reference, the cost of a Netflix subscription now ranges from $8 to $14 a month. Iger did not address reports that ESPN was planning layoffs of about 100 employees, as reported by several media outlets - and ESPN spokesperson Mike Soltys declined comment on the report.

Portia de Rossi says Steven Seagal 'unzipped his leather pants' during audition
Last week, Margulies told Sirius XM's "Just Jenny" show that Seagal also took her to a hotel room on the pretext of business. After she refused and ran to her auto , McCarthy said he followed her outside and told her not to tell anyone "or else".

For the quarter ended September 30, Disney reported earnings of $1.07 a share, excluding some items, missing the $1.14 average of analysts' estimates. Netflix fell 1.3% to 191.40 intraday after falling as low as 189.50, briefly undercutting a 190.05 buy point.

Disney's new service, then, doesn't really pose a risk to Netflix in terms of subscribers jumping ship, or even all that large of a threat that folks won't sign up for Netflix. Rian Johnson, director of The Last Jedi instalment that opens next month, is already at work on the project.

The service is set to launch in 2019.

NCAA Reports Rise in Black Athletes' Graduation Rate
At 88 percent, Georgia Tech's GSR surpasses the Division I average of 87 percent, which is also an all-time record. The Rutgers football program has earned a GSR score of 81 percent-or-better in each of the past nine years.

Disney's CEO confirmed in September 2017 that the service will have up to five original series, three or four exclusive Disney movies, and Disney's entire TV catalogue.
