Colts cornerback Vontae Davis out against Steelers

Davis has not had a good season, as Pro Football Focus' 84th-ranked cornerback out of 115 qualifiers. The problem is that the team had outright denied he has been injured, and Davis yesterday took issue with how it has been handled.

"I had a groin tear that I dealt with", Davis said, per ESPN.

Late Wednesday night, it was reported that the Colts Pro-Bowl cornerback would need season-ending surgery to fix a lingering groin issue that has hindered his play and even led to a demotion.

Coach Chuck Pagano has said only that Davis stayed home last weekend because of a coach's decision. Now cornerback Vontae Davis, who has been dealing with a groin injury, was released on Thursday morning.

Twitter doubles its character limit to 280
Whilst one half of Twitter is seemingly celebrating the news, some have complained that they instead wanted an edit button. Until this week, only a select group of Twitter users were able to tweet past the 140 character count in a trial period.

On Thursday afternoon, Ballard was asked about a report from The Indianapolis Star that Davis had chose to have season-ending surgery after getting more medical opinions. However, Davis did not take to the news very well, and he's alleged that he was told by Colts defensive coordinator Ted Monachino and defensive backs coach Greg Williams-not even Pagano himself. "And it should be more about respect".

"I'm a professional. I've been in this league long enough". "Knowing Chuck, I figured it would come from him".

"I'm not going to be able to play until I feel normal, until I feel I can go out there and be Vontae Davis and play at a high level", the 29-year-old corner said.

Davis was reportedly considering season-ending surgery.

But there has been no contact between club and manager since then as the Toffees look at the other options open to them.

However, injuries to his ankle and the aforementioned groin injury apparently resulted in diminished production over the past two seasons.

After initially hurting his groin in the preseason, Davis was cleared and returned to the playing field in Week 4.

Davis was in the final year of a four-year contract. This season, he only played five of 10 games, logged 21 tackles, two passes defensed and no interceptions, all career lows.

Star Colts beat reporter Stephen Holder reported that the coaching staff wanted to start Pierre Desir at cornerback, and that the team still maintains that Davis is not injured.

So when Jodie Whittaker makes her debut as the Thirteenth Doctor next month, she'll literally be wearing Peter Capaldi's pants . The coat lining matching the graphic on the shirt is a lovely touch, but this is a very interesting look for a new Doctor.
