New Petition Calls for Governor to Reevaluate Meek Mill's Prison Sentence

The report said the sentence triggered audible gasps, with prosecutors not having recommended any prison time.

You may have heard by now that on Monday, rapper Meek Mill was sentenced to a minimum of two and a maximum of four years in prison after a Pennsylvania judge ruled that he had violated his probation.

A Philly judge sentenced the popular rapper to 2 to 4 years in prison for violating probation in the almost decade-old case. You gave me the ladder to do what I have to do to prevail in my struggle.

Meanwhile, supporters of the imprisoned Philadelphia rapper boasted Wednesday that more than 17,000 people had signed a "Care2" petition online demanding that Brinkley be "disbarred". Mill's lawyer, Brian McMonagle, has vowed to appeal the sentencing.

In 2016, Mill was ordered to serve 90 days on house arrest for violating the terms of his parole.

According to Tacopina, Mill thought it was a joke and just laughed off the request, but Brinkley wasn't laughing and said, "Okay, suit yourself".

The transcript of that closed proceeding also was sealed at Mill's and DeSimone's requests.

Since exploding onto the Hip-Hop scene back in 2011, Meek Mill has had a series of legal issues. "She said, 'I'm serious.' He refused to do that", he said.

Brinkley has not commented on the whirlwind that began after she sentenced Mill to prison.

The criminal justice system has been a recurring subject for the rapper/mogul this year. He was also arrested this year in New York City for reckless driving. Maybe she's jealous of him.

Mill acknowledged that he went into treatment earlier this year for addiction to Percocet. "I'm human. I'm not ideal".

Like Weisberg, Richman has no first-hand knowledge of the case's specifics, but adds that if all of Tacopina's allegations are true it could rise to the level of "vindictive prosecution", and Meek might be eligible to get bailed out and sue if Tacopina is able to produce footage to prove his claims about the judge.
