Gen Bajwa also visited the headquarters of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) where he interacted with Iran's senior military leadership, read a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The COAS highlighted that with improved special measures by Islamabad on Pak-Afghan border, terrorists were likely to exploit Pak-Iran friendly border and both countries need to put in efforts to deny its use by them. Pakistan Army General Bajwa arrived in Tehran yesterday at the head of a high-ranking delegation and met with Commander of IRGC Ground Force Brigadier General Pakpour.

Saying that fighting terrorism and restoring security in the border with Iran is a priority for Pakistan, he expressed hope that bilateral economic and commercial ties be expanded through establishing peace and security in the Iran-Pakistan borders.

Pakpour said the terrorist movements at common borders between Iran and Pakistan are backed by intelligence agencies of extra-regional countries. Indeed this is the right approach to turn the border between the two countries into a one that of genuine peace, friendship and foil the attempts of those enemies who do not want warmth and close relations between the two immediate neighbours. "Regional peace and security remain at stake unless it's resolved to the aspiration of Kashmiris in line with the United Nations Resolution".
