NYPD Cops Charged With Raping Teenager In Police Van

NYPD Cops Charged With Raping Teenager In Police Van

The two officers were arraigned on Monday at Brooklyn Supreme Court. If convicted, they each face up to 25 years in prison. Their lawyers vowed to vigorously fight the charges, arguing that prosecutors had given too much credence to the woman's "uncorroborated" claims and suggesting that the encounter was consensual.

With the two facing up to 25 years in prison, now suspended without pay from the force, their defense attorneys battled the allegations in court, calling the charges "schizophrenic". The detectives were originally carrying out a buy and bust operation within the area encompassing Coney Island's 60th precinct, but ditched their posts without permission. They left their post without authorization and drove to Calvert Vaux Park in Gravesend, according to the indictment.

Just after 8 p.m., the officers conducted a vehicle stop of an Infinity Coupe driven by an 18-year-old woman with two male passengers. The cops found marijuana in the front seat cup holder.

She was then allegedly dropped outside the police precinct in Coney Island and told to keep her mouth shut, WCBS 880's Mike Smeltz reported. According to court documents, the woman said she had pot and two Klonopin pills, at which point the cops cuffed her, told her she was under arrest and said she would be issued a desk appearance ticket.

"This approves what my customer has dependably said - that she was grabbed, bound, ruthlessly assaulted and after that tossed onto the road by two on-obligation officers", the casualty's lawyer told the Post.

Iraqi Kurdish leader to quit as independence push stalls
Turkey said the Kurdistan Region's move of freezing the referendum's results was not enough and will not fix what has been ruined. Barzani has been president of KRG since 2005 and has continued to serve in the role despite his term expiring in 2013.

That's when Martins revealed she'd been arrested by "freaks", according to papers.

Martins then allegedly raped the young woman, prosecutors say.

Martins also raped her in the backseat before switching places with Hall, who forced the victim to perform oral sex on him, according to the DA.

"This validates what my client has always said - she was kidnapped, handcuffed, brutally raped and then thrown onto the street by two on-duty officers", the accuser's lawyer, Michael David, told PIX11. Both men, she alleges, forced her to perform sex acts on them.

DNA evidence collected at the hospital was confirmed to be a positive match to Martins and Hall, said David.

Google's CEO promises to 'drop everything' over cheeseburger controversy
Thankfully, at the very highest levels, Google has resolved to fix this outrageous injustice at the earliest convenience. The order that Google used, on the other hand, was the bun, lettuce, tomato, patty, cheese, and then bun.

Following the publication of this letter, Bederow declined to comment to BuzzFeed News "on anyone's characterization based on the Post article", but "caution [ed] people not to assume the accuracy of what happened simply upon unchallenged accusations".

Gonzalez said of the officers, "They're grown men in a position of power over an 18-year-old girl".

The pair then allegedly let her go back with the two men she was driving with.

NBC 4 NY first reported on the looming indictment late last week.
