Couple charged after rotting corpse of baby is found in swing

The preliminary hearing for the couple is scheduled for November 2.

Zachary Paul Koehn, 28, called an ambulance to his home on August 30, claiming that the 4-month-old boy, Sterling Daniel Koehn, had died suddenly after eating earlier that morning.

A medical examiner found maggots in Sterling's clothing and skin that suggested he hadn't had a diaper change, a bath or been moved from the swing in more than a week.

Court documents show the baby weighed less than seven pounds at the time of his death.

But this "state and local tax deduction" - known as SALT - is a huge pot of money: well over $1 trillion over the next decade. Because it is a revenue-raising measure, HB 1035 needed 76 votes to secure passage in the House.

The medical examiner ruled the 4-month-old's death a homicide and deemed the cause of death failure to provide critical care.

Dispatchers arrived at the home to find the baby dead in a powered baby swing seat in a bedroom.

Both are being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.

Neither Harris nor Koehn has had any prior criminal convictions in Iowa, online court records show.

Court records show that the pair have a history of methamphetamine usage.

Harris is also being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder, but details are unclear.

According to Koehn's Facebook page, the couple's other child was taken away from the parents the day Sterling died, although it appears from the social media site that they were allowed supervised visits. Further information on that condition was not provided in the report. A public defender appointed for Harris said she had no comment.

The couple was arrested Wednesday, the Des Moines Register reported.
