Anthony Scaramucci Apologizes For Much-Derided Holocaust Twitter Poll: 'I Take Responsibility'

The Scaramucci Post is run by Lance Laifer, a hedge fund manager, according to the profile of the page on Twitter.

Twitter users, including relatives of Holocaust survivors, were outraged by the insensitive post, and called for the tweet to be removed. I take full responsibility for it, ' Leifer added in another tweet.

"The poll has been taken down", the tweet said.

Laifer followed with two more tweets saying he apologizes for "anyone who was offended by the Holocaust poll".

The Anti-Defamation League blasted the Scaramucci Post for asking how many Jews died at the hands of Adolf Hitler's deadly regime.

He went on to state that he has "publicly criticized the white supremacy movement" and that he doesn't want anyone to think he's "giving comfort to Holocaust deniers".

He lasted just 10 days in his White House job during which he went on a foul-mouthed rant to a journalist which was made public.

Scaramucci Post, a company recently formed by the Port Washington native, has been polling followers on a number of current event topics, such as how many support a first strike with nuclear weapons on North Korea.

While I was out of the country my social media director posted a poll on the Holocaust, in an effort to promote Holocaust education and awareness in the wake of an offensive Halloween costume depicting Anne Frank. He never really clearly defined what this would be, but in recent weeks, it has mainly been a Twitter account that shares news from other sources and posts polls, some of which are somewhat sarcastic. At the launch, Scaramucci infamously said he didn't know what the company would become, but apparently "alt-right egg avatar troll" was on the table.
