Virginia University Campus on Lockdown After Shooting

One person is injured after a shooting on the Virginia State University (VSU) campus, according to Chesterfield County Police.

A man was found suffering from a gunshot wound with non-life-threatening injuries, and the shooting was considered "an isolated incident", police said.

CBS affiliate WTVR-TV in Richmond, Virginia, writes that a possible suspect is described as a black male wearing a white jersey with a blue number 23.

The announcement came via the Humble Mumble blog written by Humble Bundle CEO Jeffrey Rosen on Saturday. Reactions on Twitter have been somewhat mixed, with some users citing a potential conflict of interest.

"Police scene still active and the campus remains on lockdown", the Virginia State University (VSU) Police Department said in a tweet Saturday night.

University police tweeted on Saturday night, "Shooting on Campus - VSU is on lockdown".

"Police have cleared the scene".

The shooting occurred during a busy homecoming weekend.
