Is Facebook Down? #FacebookDown Goes Viral As Some Users Experience Issues

Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, was also down for a short time.

Multiple services, like Down Detector and Outage Report, have high numbers of users reporting the issues.

According to DownDetector, problems were reported in the US, UK and countries across Europe, including Italy, France, Germany and The Netherlands.

Users quickly turned to Twitter to vent their frustration at the Facebook problems. Facebook users reported the inability to access both personal Facebook pages and brand pages.

The problem, which began to appear around 4pm United Kingdom time, did not impact all users, while others reported the site was simply slow or some features were taking longer than usual to load.

The social media platforms went dark for many across North American and Europe on Wednesday morning.

It all started when Facebook became slow and there had been issues while posting photos.
