Rep. "Trump, president of the United States of America, has undermined the integrity of his office with impunity and has brought disrepute on the presidency with immunity; has betrayed his trust as president to the manifest injury of the American people and is unfit to be president and is impeached pursuant to Article II, Section IV of the Constitution of the United States of America", the Texas lawmaker said on the floor.

That section declares that a US president 'shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors'.

Representative Al Green hasn't been shy about his disdain for President Donald Trump.

He landed on the league's Exempt/Commissioner's Permission list that required he remain away from all team activities. Nevertheless, the Bucs will now square off against Peterson & Co. on Sunday at 4:05 p.m.

President Donald Trump waves as he walks to board Marine One helicopter on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, for a short trip to Andrews Air Force Base, Md., and then onto Harrisburg, Pa.

Green says that he didn't push for a vote now because he wants members of Congress to have a chance to read the text first, hence why he missed the opportunity to force a vote now.

Rep. Al Green is once again chasing the dream of impeaching President Donald Trump.

Green's resolution covers four articles of impeachment.

In the interview with Forbes , Trump also said that numerous unfilled positions within the State Department would remain empty. Last week Mr Tillerson called a news conference to deny reports that he was considering quitting.

Green, who first announced his intention to pursue impeachment last month, said he had not been asked to stand down before he came to the floor Wednesday.

Green's resolution is considered "privileged" by the House, meaning it has to be considered by the end of the week. He is the second Democrat to file articles of impeachment against Trump.

Last week, Rep. Green postponed introducing the articles of impeachment following the Las Vegas concert shooting.

While Green's actions won't lead to an immediate impeachment of the President, it is yet another step in that direction.

Trump has for weeks criticized players and teams for their protest, which he has claimed disrespects the American flag and anthem. Trump says it's "no wonder" ESPN's ratings have tanked with Hill "at the mike".

"Any discussions I may have had are private, and I will not discuss them", Green told reporters Wednesday, adding that he felt "not one scintilla" of pressure from party leaders. Some in the party think it would be an overreach to go for the political jugular, and might alienate voters in the process, putting the Dems even deeper in the hole in the upcoming midterm elections.
