NFL insider reports Colin Kaepernick would stand for national anthem

CBS Sports correspondent Jason La Canfora reported that Kapernick is living in New York City and has been working out in New Jersey in hopes of landing with a team.

Kaepernick sparked the recent wave of anthem demonstrations when he sat (and later kneeled) during pregame festivities previous year in order to bring attention to racial injustice and police brutality in America.

The new interim champion submitted Kevin Lee in an absorbing encounter in Las Vegas which saw Ferguson dropped in the first round. Afterwards, Ferguson had a simple and profane message for lightweight champ Conor McGregor . "The boy's scared.

But following weeks of massive protest in the National Football League sparked by comments from President Donald Trump, Kaepernick, now a free agent, appears to have relented in his commitment to soldier on with his protests until "significant change" is made.

Oh, and he also tossed out a little tidbit that Kaepernick will stand for the national anthem. President Donald Trump suggested in September that the NFL begin firing football players who refuse to stand. Trump's comments set off a wave of protests from football players who began taking knees or sitting in the locker room while the song played. "I relayed what had been reported about him standing in the future".

While the NFL's anthem protests have picked up steam in recent weeks, Colin Kaepernick has remained quiet and out of public sight. "To me this is something that has to change. What he would do during the Anthem I do not know". He opted out of his 49ers contract after the season, although he was informed he would have been cut regardless.

"I left today's [Indianapolis] Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem", Pence wrote on Twitter. "Colin and I didn't discuss". "I don't think that's going to affect people from saying, 'I'm going to do what's in the best interest of my football team and give my team the best chance to win, ' because that's what every team wants to do". According to a report by Jason La Canfora, Kaepernick has been living in NY and working out privately in New Jersey with the hope of signing with a team this season.
