New Storm Could Threaten US Gulf Coast as Hurricane this Weekend

"I don't think it is going to head toward us, but we are continuing to monitor it".

Bands of heavy rain and winds may affect Cancún and Cozumel by Friday.

Tropical Depression 16 formed this morning (Oct. 4) in the southwestern Caribbean Sea. By mid-September, the total number of named storms in the Pacific and Atlantic was pacing ahead of the previous busiest hurricane seasons-2012 and 2005. "This tends to be a hot spot thanks to relatively low wind shear and very warm sea surface temperatures", said Storm Team 8 Meteorologist Ed Bloodsworth. Because the storm has no clear center, predictions on where it will make landfall on the Gulf Coast are highly uncertain.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb.

He did not elaborate, except to say that the committee had not come to any conclusions and that the investigation is ongoing. Burr said the Russians had been "pretty darn successful" in fomenting chaos in the USA political system.

The long-term forecast showed the storm reaching the Gulf Coast by Sunday. The National Hurricane Center is forecasting a Category 1 storm. While an exact landfall location is far from certain as of this forecast, the greatest risk spans from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Apalachicola, Florida.

"It's not terribly unusual to see storms this time of year develop", Godsey said. Not all gyres produce tropical cyclones, but they all produce heavy rainfall.

Tropical formation chances were 50 percent through the next 48 hours and 70 percent over the next five days.

Supreme Court hears gerrymandering case arguments
We will most likely know in June whether the Court's right flank managed to pull him back into their fold. It's no secret that Democrats and Republicans create electoral maps that favor their party.

There is some relief in sight, though, and it's in the form of a Tropical Depression.

Squally weather blanketing South Florida Wednesday is not related to the storm, but part of another system over west Cuba and the Florida straits. Belize and the Cayman Islands could also be affected.

These Central American gyres are notorious for flooding rainfall over Central America and Mexico, and this one will be no exception.
