MI mom who refused to vaccinate child gets 7 days in jail

Rebecca Bredow, 40, was sentenced to a week in jail Wednesday for contempt of court-closing a year-long legal battle between her and her ex-husband over the vaccination of their 9-year-old, Detroit News reported.

The judge reminded Bredow she agreed to the immunizations. A judge ordered her to jail for a week.

Earlier this year, the State of MI launched a social media and TV campaign to encourage parents to vaccinate their children.

But when Bredow refused to go through with the remaining vaccinations, her ex-husband asked the judge to force Bredow, who has primary custody of the child, to comply with their prior agreement.
