Smart Home Weekly: Should You Use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant

IC-design house MediaTek has been benefiting from Amazon's launch of its Echo family products, said the sources, adding that MediaTek is now the primary chipset supplier for Echo smart speakers, accounting for over 50% of Amazon's purchases of chips for Echo products, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News report. As per the report, the Google' smart home device could sport screen similar to that of the Echo Show.

However, given the Echo Show's presence (Amazon just released it in the United Kingdom following the US-only launch), there's now "internal pressure" to get Google's rival out this year.
