Some 6.7 million customers still without power after Irma

Georgia Power said Friday that it had made enough progress that it moved up its projections for finishing the bulk of repairs by 24 hours.

In a release, the company states they will not offer to expedite power restoration for an additional fee.

You may not see the FPL trucks in your neighborhood, but Florida Power and Light says they are near and working to get your power back on, but there is no specific information as to how soon any community may get its lights back on.

There were 477 Tri-County EMC members waiting to have their power restored on Saturday morning, including 265 in Jones, 112 in Baldwin, 83 in Putnam County, 16 in Twiggs and one in Wilkinson.

To recover restoration costs, FPL files with state regulators and, if approved, adds a storm surcharge on the monthly bills of its almost 5 million customers.
