With ruling near in ex-St. Louis officer's trial, calm urged

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner said she was "disappointed" with the judge's decision.

Prosecutors concluded that the credibility and reasonableness of Stockley's actions be judged through the simultaneous actions of his partner Officer Bianchi. "We need further examination and clarity in the laws that govern the use of deadly force by police officers", she said, calling for a change in the way such cases are investigated. Stockley opened fire only after Smith refused commands to put up his hands and reached along the seat "in the area where the gun was", Bruntrager said. Prosecutors accused the officer of planting a silver revolver to justify the shooting. "The 4,900 employees at the Market Street campus west of downtown were "strongly encouraged to take their laptops home" and continue working there", based on a statement from the company.

St. Louis police said officers took one man into custody at about 11 a.m., after a police vehicle was damaged.

"We might not get what we want", said Christina Wilson, fiancée of Anthony Lamar Smith, at a press conference with the governor on Thursday. "We have a right to disagree".

Mr Stockley, 36, was recorded during the pursuit saying: "Gonna kill this [expletive], don't you know it". As Smith quickly accelerated, there would not have been time for him to then grab a firearm and point it at Stockley.

Prosecutors claimed that Stockley had fired his "kill shot" at Smith from just 6 inches away and then planted a revolver in Smith's vehicle to justify the shooting. The defense argued he was going to retrieve a medical pad in order the render aid.

Only Mr Smith's DNA was traced on a plastic bag of heroin that was also found in the auto.

Government stands firm: Why should India shelter Rohingyas?
The central government on Thursday in their "unfinalised affidavit" had said that Rohingyas pose a security threat to the country. The government claimed these groups to be operating in Jammu, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mewat in north India.

"In this instance, even though the allegation was murder in the first degree, we successfully inject the issue of self-defense", Bruntrager said.

"The gun was a plant", Steele said.

The judge also referred to Smith as an "urban heroin dealer" and said that it would not be "an anomaly" for him to possess a gun. Less than a minute later, the officer fatally shot Smith.

The fact that Anthony Smith was shot and killed by Stockley is not in dispute. It was later revealed to be heroin, the judge said in a footnote to the ruling.

CNN Segment Ends With Guest Proclaiming Love of "First Amendment And Boobs"
I don't believe Jemele Hill should be fired for Tweeting Donald Trump was a white supremacist and for recently saying police officers are modern day slave catchers.

Joyce announces first-degree murder charges against Stockley. Stockley testified at his own trial and the defense presented only one other witness. The then-officer shot at Smith's auto during the chase, apparently screaming, "I'm going to kill this motherfucker, don't you know it!" "People say all kinds of things in the heat of the moment or while in stressful situations". The verdict over Smith's killing has been highly anticipated - and it prompted protests outside the courthouse. Some could be seen locking arms and praying together, while others held signs, chanting, "No justice, no peace".
