Man United's Paul Pogba 'out for a few matches'

Pogba limped off with a torn hamstring in the first half of the Red Devils' 3-0 win against Swiss champions Basel in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

"Bad decisions, fantasy football, PlayStation football, tricks and when you stopped to play as a team and when you stopped to play seriously I don't like and you gamble a little bit".

"After 2-0 I think everything changed and we stopped to play, stopped to think, stopped to play seriously, ' Mourinho said, as quoted by the Daily Mail". He allows the likes of Pogba and Fellaini to push forward, while he would be given the chance to take up a free role next to the more defensive-minded pairing of Michael Carrick and Matic.

There are fears Pogba may have also suffered a thigh strain after stretching to make the challenge and United's medics have not been painting a positive picture.

But Liverpool legend Gerrard insists Pogba's hamstring problem is bad news for Manchester United despite having capable options to fill the Frenchman's void in the starting line-up.

He said today: "I don't know I just know it's a muscular injury and he's out for the weekend match".

"Honestly, we miss Pogba and we need him, but we have good players". Wayne Rooney will return for the first time since returning to the Toffees, while Mourinho will look to keep Manchester United at the top of the Premier League following a rampant start to the season with 10 points from a possible 12.

The Spanish star was one of the Special One's most important players a year ago as they won two trophies, earning the praise of his manager and teammates alike and even muted as a potential successor to Wayne Rooney as club captain.

The Sun initially claimed that the Manchester United manager, as well as his backroom staff, have placed the blame on the French midfielder for the hamstring injury which is set to keep him sidelined for several weeks.

And Mourinho says the England global is available for selection once again, but Sunday's visit of Everton (3:30pm) might be too soon.
