President Trump on 9/11: 'America Cannot be Intimidated'

Trump and First Lady Melania Trump walked onto the South Lawn and stood as bells tolled for the first 9/11 anniversary of Trump's presidency.

Washington D.C. [U.S.A], September 11:United States President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump joined the nation by observing a minute's silence to mark the 16th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks, which killed almost 3,000 people by issuing a stern warning to extremist groups threatening the U.S.

Vice President Mike Pence will attend a ceremony later on Monday in Shanksville, Pennyslvania, where a second hijacked plane crashed into a field on 9/11.

Visitors remember victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks at the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington on Monday.

The downside, or upside, depending on where your loyalties lie, is that it's going to be Apple-exclusive...for now. You play as the children of light, with a goal of bringing light to where it's needed the most.

Trump has previously lauded the bravery of NY police officers, firefighters and other emergency responders who rushed to the Twin Towers to help.

Trump, a native New Yorker and real estate magnate, identifies strongly with the Twin Towers that were destroyed that day and the people who were killed, wounded and frightened as they fell.

The president and first lady were joined by several White House staffers, including Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, both of whom serve as advisers to the president.

Trump vowed that his home city's spirit would not be broken.

Trump said: "When Americans are in need, Americans pull together - and we are one country".

In the years that followed, Trump's views on terrorism hardened and his claims about 9/11 grew more outlandish and untrue. They then bowed their heads and stood silently before placing their hands on their hearts as a bugler played "Taps". There is no such evidence in news archives.

But he has also criticized President George W. Bush's handling of the attacks, accusing Bush of failing in his duty to keep Americans safe. Trump has not provided the names of those he knew who perished in the attack, but has mentioned knowing a Roman Catholic priest who died while serving as a chaplain to the city fire department. He speaks regularly about the threat posed by terrorists.
