The tournament finale with Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler will then air at 10 pm EST exclusively on the WWE Network once SmackDown goes off the air.

Katia weakens after making landfall in Mexico
Hurricane Katia has deteriorated into a soggy tropical depression that is dumping rain over the mountains of east-central Mexico. As Florida prepares for Hurricane Irma , Tropical Storm Jose has formed in the Atlantic Ocean and is forecasted to strengthen.

Though they approach competition with different outlooks, Sane and Baszler now find themselves in the same spot, as finalists in WWE's groundbreaking women's tournament.

By contrast, Baszler essentially bulldozed through her opponents on the way to the final, winning each time with the MMA-style chokehold. "I can tell you what's next for her". Bazler dominated as she had the size advantage, but Sane fought back, hit a big double foot stomp off the top rope, and pulled off the victory with her famous elbow drop.

Cathy Kelly then interviewed the victor of the Mae Young Classic, Kairi Sane.

Triple H later announced that this win puts Kairi Sane into the NXT Women's Championship match at NXT Takeover: Houston in November. "On Nov. 18 at the Toyota Center at the next NXT TakeOver, Kairi will be fighting to determine a new NXT women's champion".

That title was held for a record 523 days by fellow countrywoman Asuka, who has quit the brand to step to the main roster on RAW. She wants to be the next NXT Women's Champion and will do her best to make it happen.
