Chainsmokers' Alex Pall sorry for comment about China

Chainsmokers' Alex Pall sorry for comment about China

As The Independent reports, yesterday the duo tweeted a promotional video documenting their recent trip to Shanghai for the Ultra China festival, which included excerpts from a filmed interview. In the clip, which BuzzFeed News captured, Pall joked that he wouldn't want to bring his dog Cheddar to China, and implied that it was because Chinese people eat dogs.

'I mean if she could come anywhere, I'd bring her. The comment was about the stereotype concerning the Chinese and eating dogs. "Well I don't know if I'd bring her to China".

The Chainsmokers have apologised for a comment made in a recent interview in China, in which the duo's Alex Pall joked that he was anxious that Chinese people might eat his dog.

Lack of 'safeguards' in Tesla's Autopilot contributed to fatal crash
NTSB recommended that NHTSA require automakers to have safeguards to prevent the misuse of semi-autonomous vehicle features. Brown relied too much on automation, and demonstrated a "lack of understanding of system limitations", the agency said.

While the tone deaf joke doesn't appear to have offended the reporter, it set viewers off. Twitter users quickly shared their reactions to the video, which has since been deleted.

Pall explained on Twitter Monday that he had "read reports about dogs being slaughtered in certain provinces" of China.

"We originally posted [that promotional] video to show how much we love China and our fans there", he continues.

So far 20 people have been arrested related to the scam and more than 24 FIR's have been filed in connection with the scam including 10 FIR's by CBI.

Still, fans weren't instantly forgiving, and quickly hopped on Twitter to tell the Pall what he said was wrong. Furthermore, there is a very real history of dogs being eaten in China, and still to this day, including the Lychee and Dog Meat Festival in Yulin, China.

The comments roll in just after The Chainsmokers recently announced they're collaborating with South Korean boy band, BTS.
