1-Up: Nintendo Bringing Back NES Classic Edition Console in 2018

If you're one of the many people who are clamoured for Nintendo's highly coveted retro consoles, you'll have a better chance in the coming months.

An announcement by Nintendo revealed that they will be bringing the console back next year. After all, it one of the most sought items during the 2016 holiday shopping season - and also one of the most hard to find. But now it appears the company is rethinking its strategy.

The NES Classic Edition ships with 30 games including Donkey Kong, Castlevania, Final Fantasy and Metroid.

As an indication of its planned supply, Nintendo said that the number of SNES Classic Edition consoles shipped on launch day in the United States will be higher than the total number of NES Classic Editions shipped.

So great is the demand for the retro console that Nintendo has now announced that it will put more Classic Edition consoles on shelves come its release on 29th September.

Having been discontinued earlier this year to make way for the upcoming Super Nintendo Entertainment System: SNES Classic Edition, Nintendo has announced that the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition will be returning to stores next summer.

In its most recent quarter, the company sold 1.97 million Switch consoles.
