Samsung scripts new 'Note' for success in premium phone market

It has launched the Galaxy Note 8 in the event in India that commenced with Samsung CEO and President for Southeast Asia H.C. Hong.

After a long gap, Samsung has today announced a new smartphone in its Note series with the launch of Galaxy Note 8 in India. Now, they ready to launch their all new Galaxy Note 8 today in India. The smartphone is now available for pre-bookings in India, and will start shipping to users from September 21 - which is when it also becomes available. The form factor is similar to Galaxy S8 except for the curves; Galaxy Note 8 has the square corners.

The Indian iteration of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be powered by Exynos 8895 instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core SoC, paired with 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB onboard flash storage (UFS 2.1 module).

The Note 8 is a successor to Samsung's ill-fated Note 7, which was recalled twice and discontinued after it spontaneously overheated or caught fire.

The rear camera comes with two 12MP lenses - wide angle and telephoto.

This brand new gadget also approved with the IP68-certified which will resist the dust and water in the gadget and it is also able to withstand immersion in up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. The main highlighting feature of the phablet, however, is its huge Infinity Super AMOLED display. It will be available in its Maple Gold and Midnight Black colour variants. The company unveiled a Samsung Upgrade Program offer, where buyers can exchange their old Galaxy Note smartphones for additional discounts. For selfies, it has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture.

Samsung will also introduce voice capabilities with "Make for India" innovations in its intelligent interface "Bixby" in the next few weeks. The smart phone offers the finger print sensor along with many connectivity options which includes Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB, OTG, Headphone, 3G and 4G (with the support of Band 40 used by some LTE networks of India). The Note8 also activates a S Pen specific menu each time you pull the Pen from the device.
